January 2014

Attention Florida Inpatient and SIPP Providers:

Please be advised that Data Correction requests are to be submitted in paper format. The purpose of the data correction form is to correct administrative errors. It is not intended to review medical necessity nor replace the prior authorization process. Instructions are provided as to how to fill out the form as well as fax information for its submission at the bottom of the form itself.
Data Corrections not submitted utilizing the form/format, will require additional processing time and redirection of the provider to the form that is provided on our website and within this alert.
Please do not submit multiple data corrections for the same request as this will delay processing.

Any post discharge requests made to the MMA UM Program, with an admission date of July 1, 2013 or later, should be submitted electronically through our web site, regardless of the length of stay.

Who: Magellan Medicaid Administration (MMA) in conjunction with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA)

What: Targeted Case Management (TCM), Psychosocial Rehab (PSR) and Treatment Planning/Development.

When: December 12th 2013, 9:30 AM until 4:00 PM EST.
Registration starts at 9am.
Lunch on your own.

Seating will be limited to AHCA Area 7 providers only.
Please, only two (2) persons per agency will be seated.

There is no fee for this training.

Registration will be opened statewide to Florida providers as a Webinar the following day, 12/13/2013. You will receive instructions for log-in, the evening prior to the presentation through the email you have registered. Please, no more than (2) emails per provider for the Webinar.

June 2013

Provider Alert

Effective July 1, 2013, the state of Florida implemented a new inpatient payment method utilizing Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG) for Medicaid. For admissions dated July 1, 2013 and forward, only an initial request will be required. If medical necessity is met, one day will be approved. Continued stay request will not be necessary and if submitted, will be place in cancelled status. For cases with an admit date prior to July 1, 2013, the review process will remain as before with requests submitted for initial and continued stay reviews until discharge .For further information about DRGs please follow this link to the MMIS portal.

Medicaid Provider Compliance Program & Provider Self Audits Teleconferences

Training on Medicaid Provider Compliance Program & Provider Self Audits will be held on the dates listed below. All Medicaid providers are strongly encouraged to participate. The training will be performed via teleconference. To join the teleconference training, please dial 1-888-808-6959 and, at the prompt, enter the conference code 827 998 7547. Each training session below is limited to 100 participants. If the session is full when you call, please plan to participate in any of the other sessions. The training will follow a PowerPoint presentation found at the following page. This presentation will be available on April 28, 2011, for providers who wish to pre-view the training materials. Please review the presentation and email your questions before the day of the teleconference to: Kelly.Bennett@ahca.myflorida.com. Providers may want to print a copy of it to follow along while the training is in progress. Any questions that arise during the training may be emailed to Kelly Bennett, at: Kelly.Bennett@ahca.myflorida.com.
